DefenderNet is developed by GamerSafer, a safety tech company focused on protecting players and communities. This project is supported by Safe Online, a global fund supporting safer digital spaces for children worldwide.
We started with OCSEA because many children and young players are active in these communities, and these risks are high-impact and time-sensitive. We plan to expand to additional harm categories over time.
DefenderNet blocks users banned by our Reporting Partners for severe harm from joining your community and removes them if they are already present.
Some communities take the next step by becoming a DefenderNet Reporting Partner. These are communities trained in safety and moderation best practices. They can apply DefenderNet bans for severe harm categories and help strengthen protection across the network.
No. DefenderNet is free. Just install the Discord bot and/or Minecraft plugin to get started.
No. DefenderNet is a protection network, not a public or automatic ban list. Only vetted Reporting Partners can apply bans for severe harm.
No. Only approved Reporting Partners can apply DefenderNet bans for severe harm categories. All communities benefit from DefenderNet protection once the solution is installed.
Yes. If a ban is removed by the community that issued it, the network protection updates accordingly.
